CyRide Fall 2026 Run Pick
To pick runs, follow these steps.
Check your seniority number on the list below to see when you can pick.
You must pick before the end of your assigned run pick time slot. If you do
not pick your runs before the end of your assigned time slot, the next person
in line will be allowed to pick before you.
Check available runs on the lists below to see which runs you can pick up.
These will be marked as they are taken.
Note: a driver may not choose a run until the posted end time of the driver
preceding him/her unless the driver immediately before has chosen. You must
choose a run before your end time or the next driver may choose a run and you
forfeit your place. You may call in any time after that and choose, but your
choices are limited to the shifts that are left at that point.
You may do your run pick in one of two ways: in-person or over-the-phone.
In either case, please prepare ahead of time and be ready with your run selections
so that this proceeds quickly and smoothly. Use the following guidelines to
prepare:
- Know your seniority number. If you can't come in to work, give CyRide
a call and the dispatcher will tell you what it is.
- You may pick up to a maximum of 39.0 hours per week.
- As your run pick time approaches, start looking through the
lists of available runs to see what you would like to pick. Keep in mind that you may need
to create a few alternate picks in case people ahead of you in seniority end up taking
what you want.
- Once your name reaches the top of the seniority list, ensure that the runs you want are
still available and double check that the total hours you want do not exceed 39.0 hours.
- Call us at (515) 292-1100 and say you are calling for your run pick. You will be connected
to the run pick manager. Tell them which runs you've picked. They will record your picks and
will also double check to make sure that no rules are being broken.
A driver may choose any combination of shifts and days as long as all scheduling rules are met.
The following scheduling rules apply:
- No more than 10.0 scheduled per day when putting together a run (run pick or run change).
- No more than 6.0 hours without a 30-minute lunch break.
- No more than 16.0 hours from the start of the earliest shift to the end of the latest shift each day.
- At least 9.0 hours off overnight.
- No more than 6 days worked in one week (Monday to Sunday).
- Drivers can sign up for 15.0 to 39.0 hours (nothing above 39.0).
- Drivers can pick and choose different shifts each day.
- Friday A/B option available only for MLX shifts.
- No overlapping of runs unless approved.
- Must be available for entirety of on-calls and extras, no exceptions and no overlapping.
- Extras hours are not guaranteed and shifts will be adjusted as needed.
Blank flowsheets are available at the links below. These are not required for runpick and may
be ignored if you are not familiar with how to read a flowsheet.
